Professor Syed Nazim Ali visited CIEBF

Center for Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance (CIEBF) is very proud that the professor Syed Nazim Ali, director of the Center for Islamic Economics and Finance at Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (QFIS), a college of Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU), member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development visited School of Economics and Business Sarajevo and Centre for Islamic Economics Banking and Finance.

Professor Nazim had the meeting with professor Meliha Bašić, the SEBS dean of finance and lecturer at the Islamic Banking master programme, professor Velid Efendić head of Islamic Banking master programme, where both sides agreed that there is a plenty of space for mutual cooperation and collaboration between Center for Islamic Economics and Finance at Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (QFIS) and Center for Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance (CIEBF). Professor Efendić presented the Islamic Banking master programme and activities of the Center for Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance (CIEBF), with focus on the conferences that the Centre hosted: Islamic Finance Conference 2012, SIFEC 2014 and ICIBF 2016.  

Professor Syed Nazim Ali, is former professor of Harvard University and founder of the of Harvard’s Islamic Finance Project. He was Acting Executive Director of the Islamic Legal Studies Program. He has played lead role in organizing several conferences and seminars by observing global trends and creating forums for highly intellectual debates. Most known seminars and conferences are: Harvard University Forum on Islamic Finance (1997-2014) and the annual workshop at the London School of Economics (2006-).

It is a great honor to host the professor  Syed Nazim Ali, and we are sure that this visit will create long and successful partnership between these two institutions.
