Prof. dr. Meliha Bašić elected as Dean of University of Sarajevo - School of Economics and Business

The Council of the University of Sarajevo - School of Economics and Business (SEBS), at the session held today, on February 14, 2024, elected Prof. dr. Meliha Bašić as the Dean of the School for a term of four years. Prof. dr. Meliha Bašić replaced Prof. dr. Jasmina Selimović in the position of Dean, who took over the position of the Governor of the Central Bank of BiH in January 2024.

Professor Bašić has been a member of the School management and has served as Vice-dean for Finance since 2016. On two occasions, in 2018 and 2024, she has served as the Acting Dean. Her contribution and commitment to the advancement and promotion of the School have been recognized by the members of the School’s Council, which was the basis for entrusting her with the leadership of the Institution in the next four-year term.

In her professional career, Prof. dr. Meliha Bašić has been an examiner authorized by the Commission for Accounting and Auditing of BiH for certifying independent accountants and authorized auditors, an examiner for authorized court experts - the Ministry of Justice of FBiH, and an examiner for certified internal auditors and president of the Academic Association of Internal Auditors in BiH. She is the founder of the Center for Forensic Accounting and a member of the editorial board of the journal "The Journal of Accounting, 2018 - Ethics & Public Policy" of the European Scientific Institute.
