„Conditions and Prospects of Forensic Accounting in Bosnia and Herzegovina“

On Thursday, 25 March 2021, the first round table on the topic „Conditions and Prospects of Forensic Accounting in Bosnia and Herzegovina“ will be held through the BigBlueButton online platform. The round table is organized by the Center for Forensic Accounting of School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo (CFA) within the project „Building Forensic Accounting Capacity in BiH“, which the School implements with the support of the State Department of the United States of America – Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).

On this occasion, results of the expert analysis of the current conditions and development of the forensic accounting capacity in BiH conducted over the past few months will be presented, and panelists will provide an expert review of the conditions in the area of economic crime, and discuss what contribution is expected from the forensic accountant in financial investigations of economic crimes and fraudulent financial reporting.

The panelists are: Munib Halilović, chief federal prosecutor of the Federation BiH; mr. sci. Šerif Isović, director of the Revenue Office of the Federation BiH; Fatima Obhođaš, deputy Minister of Finance of the Federation BiH; prof. dr. Jelena Poljašević, associate professor at the Faculty of Economics of Banja Luka at the Department of Accounting and Business Finance, and prof. dr. sc. Igor Živko, vice-dean of business affairs and international cooperation, and associate professor in the area of finance at the Faculty of Economics of University of Mostar. 

The round table will begin with the keynote address by the School's Dean, prof. dr. Jasmina Selimović, after which the head of CFA, prof. dr. Meliha Bašić will present the Project and CFA, while the full professor at the Department of Accounting of School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo, prof. dr. Ševala Isaković, will present the results of the conducted analysis. 

CFA was formed for the needs of implementing the project „Building Forensic Accounting Capacity in Bosnia and Herzegovina“, funded by the US Embassy in BiH. The Center has been established within School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo. It is aimed at designing, creating and managing all activities related to the education, certification and lifelong learning of forensic accountants in BiH.
