International conference on official statistics ICOS 2017 at School of Economics and Business

 

Federal institute for statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina and School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo are organizing the first International conference in the field of statistics - International Conference on Statistics 2017 (ICOS 2017). This two-day conference will gather scientists, experts and professor from B&H, region and world, that will through nine modules have opportunity to present their research, results of analysis and innovative approaches in modernization of work in field of statistics.

The significance of the conference is reflected in unique opportunity for mutual exchange of new innovative approaches and examples of good practice between professors, national and foreign experts and students. Maintenance of this event has been supported by USAID B&H, office of the World Bank in B&H, The Republican institute for statistics Republic of Srpska and Agency for statistics B&H.

The goal of ICOS 2017 conference is promotion of importance of collecting great quality data that are necessary for programs and politics planning in all sectors of development, encouraging the strength of the quality of official statistics, creating better cooperation between statistic institutions with academic sector, and encouraging interest for statistical research among younger generations.

The presence at the conference has been confirmed by premier of government FB&H Mr. Fadil Novalić, H.E. Maureen Cormack – ambassador of United States of America in B&H as well as representative of the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, EUROSTAT, including eminent professors from prestige world faculties and many other foreign experts in field of statistics.

ICOS 2017 conference will be held in the premises of School of Economics and Business, University of Sarajevo, at 30th and 31st March 2017, starting at 09:30 a.m.
