What Does It Take To Be a Business Leader?

The University of National and World Economy (UNWE), Sofia, Bulgaria, in cooperation with the University of Sarajevo - School of Economics and Business (SEBS), together with Economic Institute Sarajevo (EIS), Bosnia and Herzegovina, are organizing and carrying out a training within the course "Supporting the development of the institutional and business capacity for the work of small and medium-sized enterprises of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the path of European integration" for managers and entrepreneurs of small and medium-sized enterprises. The project is supported by the Government of Japan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, and through its JICA Balkan Office it will provide experts on some topics for the training. The project is funded by the Bulgarian Development Aid (BDA) Programme, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bulgaria.

Aim and objectives of the course:

  • The development of global thinking and the ability to analyse the complex processes in the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the context of the constantly changing business environment;
  • Acquisition of new knowledge, skills and methods for modern, creative and innovative management through team building;
  • Getting to know cultural similarities and differences in business and integration of cultural values in the style of business leaders;
  • Cultivating awareness of corporate social responsibility characteristic of leaders with a holistic approach.

  • Specialists who are interested in modern trends in management
  • Managers and entrepreneurs interested in Japanese management

Classes:

Classes are the place for interaction and creativity, where attendees are the real initiators of ideas, not just passive listeners. New management concepts are explored and the Japanese management approach and best practices are presented. Classes are held on weekends, encouraging active participation in seminars, teamwork, and individual activities.

Team of trainers:

The teaching team consists of highly qualified Japanese professors, trainers from the UNWE, who have undergone specialization in Japan, as well as lecturers from the University of Sarajevo - School of Economics and Business, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with extensive practical experience.

Beginning of the course:

12th-13th May, University of Sarajevo - School of Economics and Business

Course format:

A combination of classes on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays (16 hours in total) during the course of ten weekends. Working languages: English (level of good understanding) and B&H languages. The course is free of charge.  

Certificate of Successful Completion:

Certificate of vocational qualification, signed by the Rectors of the UNWE, University of Sarajevo - School of Economics and Business, and also by the Head of JICA Balkan Office.
